LEXINGTON, Ky. - (WKYT) EKU's Noah Spence is headed to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Spence was selected early in the second round of the NFL Draft Friday night, the overall No. 39 pick.
The OVC Defensive Player of the Year was drafted as an outside linebacker.
Spence played just one season at Eastern Kentucky after starting his career at Ohio State. He was thrown off the Ohio State team and out of the Big Ten Conference after a positive drug test.
Spence reportedly took five drug tests while he played with the Colonels, from May through December. He followed that up with 15 more tests conducted by an independent drug-testing company from January until this week. Spence then mailed the results to all NFL teams.
The 6-foot-3, 261-pound Spence is a native of Harrisburg, Penn.
