UK punter Panton arrested for public intoxication

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) - A University of Kentucky football player was arrested and charged with public intoxication early Sunday morning, just hours after the team's loss to Ole Miss.

Lexington Police arrested senior punter Matt Panton near the corners of South Upper and Bolivar streets and booked him in the Fayette County Detention Center around 1:30 a.m. Sunday, according to the Lexington Herald-Leader.

Panton’s arraignment is scheduled for Nov. 20, the newspaper reported.

When asked for comment by WKYT, UK Football spokesperson Susan Lax said, "We are aware of the situation and we will address it on Monday.”
