Young Voters Could Make Bigger Impact On Election Than Originally Thought

Young voters may make a bigger impact than ever this election year.

National media outlets report the internet has helped boost political interest among 18 to 24 year olds and led to a surge in the number of registered voters under 30.

Here in Kentucky, some say that means voter polls may not be as accurate as you think.

“Young people don't have the land lines that a lot of the older people do, and you know the polls don't get to the younger people like they should,” Senator Johnny Ray Turner said.

Officials with Rock The Vote, a national group encouraging young people to get politically active, say young voter turnout tripled in elections earlier this year.
