WKYT in Lexington is looking for a dynamic morning executive producer for its award winning news department that produces three and a half hours of morning news. In addition to producing the 6 a.m. hour, the morning executive producer will oversee producers and staff working on the 5 a.m., 7 a.m., and 10 a.m. newscasts. This is an outstanding opportunity for a strong, experienced morning producer looking to make a step into management.
The successful candidate will be a strong writer who knows the difference between producing and stacking a show.
We have all the tools: the market's longest running anchor team; the market's only traffic reporter; two general assignment reporters dedicated to mornings; multiple live trucks and other live capabilities; the market's only helicopter; and a passion to be successful in the mornings.
Now, we just need someone who knows how to bring them all together to create fast-paced, dynamic morning newscasts.
The successful candidate will manage content and showcasing across multiple platforms; work with the staff to enhance content with graphics, video and station branding; supervise pre-production to ensure quality and error-free newscasts; assist in managing schedules, overtime and performance of morning news staff; manage and assist in posting content to station's web channel; and perform other duties as assigned.
If you have the experience and desire to succeed, we want to hear from you.
Candidates should send resumes, DVDs and links of work to:
