Kentucky Gives Day encourages Kentuckians to click, give and make a difference on Wednesday. Beginning at midnight and continuing until 11:59 pm EST, Kentuckians will find 380 charitable 501(c)(3) organizations from across the Commonwealth.
Saturday, January 19th is recognized at the Martin Luther King, Jr. Day of Service. Organizations across the United States are hosting activities to give back to their communities. Click on the link to find activities in your area.
In memory of Ben Laslie, Allen Williams and Nick Jacoby, the Laslies are sponsoring B.R.A.K.E.S. Driving School for young adults, age 16-19, at the Franklin County High School parking lot on May 5 and 6. All 397 national parks across the country will offer free admission from January 14 through 16 to commemorate Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Day.
The National Park Service will also waive admission fees on 14 other days in 2012; National Park Week (April 21 to 29), Get Outdoors Day (June 9), National Public Lands Day (September 29), and the weekend of Veterans Day (November 10 to 12).
