Suppertime Hash Browns with Cheesy Chili Wednesday, May 18, 2011


1 lb lean ground beef
1 15.5 oz sloppy joe sauce
1 15 oz can chili with beans
½ 30 oz pkg frozen shredded hash browns (about 4 cups)
2 cups cheddar cheese, shredded


Preheat oven to 400 deg. Brown ground beef over medium heat stirring occasionally until beef loses its color. Stir in sloppy joe sauce and chili. Spoon chili mixture into a 9x13 inch dish which has been sprayed with cooking oil spray. Top with frozen hash browns sprinkled evenly. Press down lightly. Cover and bake about 30 minutes. Uncover and bake an additional 10 minutes or until top is browned. Sprinkle with cheese and return to the oven until cheese is melted (about 5 minutes).
