Peach Crumble Pie Tuesday, June 21, 2011


1 9” deep dish frozen pie shell
5 to 6 cups peeled, seeded and sliced peaches
1/2 cup sugar
1/2 cup plus 2 TBSP flour
2 TBSP buttermilk
1/2 cup brown sugar
½ cup butter
1/2 cup oatmeal
1 tsp nutmeg, divided


Toss the sliced peaches in the buttermilk. Mix sugar and 2 TBSP flour and sprinkle over peaches. Stir to evenly distribute flour mixture. Turn into pie shell mounding in the center. Sprinkle with ½ tsp nutmeg. Mix 1/2 cup flour, ½ tsp nutmeg and brown sugar. Slice butter and add to the flour mixture cutting in completely. Stir in oatmeal and sprinkle evenly over peaches. Bake in a preheated 350 deg oven about 45 minutes or until bubbly and brown. Serve warm with vanilla ice cream.
