Spicy Molasses Cake Wednesday, March 17, 2010
¾ cup butter, softened
½ cup sugar
1 cup molasses
2 ½ cups self-rising flour
1 tsp each, nutmeg, cinnamon and cloves
1 cup hot water
Cream butter and sugar. Beat in eggs and molasses. Mix spices with flour and beat into mosasses mixture. Beat in hot water. Turn into a Bundt pan which has been sprayed with bakeing spray. Bake about 45 minutes in a preheated 350 deg oven. Allow to cool in the pan about 5 minutes before turning out.
