Peppered Tombstone Spread Monday, October 29, 2012

Ingredients

12 oz cream cheese, softened
3/4 tsp garlic powder
1/4 tsp seasoned salt
1/4 tsp celery salt
1/4 tsp dried basil
1/4 tsp dried thyme
3 TBSP coarsely ground pepper
Fresh parsley
Assorted crackers

Directions

In a small bowl, combine the first six ingredients; refrigerate for 30 minutes.
Shape 1 cup mixture into a tombstone; coat with pepper. Place on serving platter. With the tip of a sharp knife, write "RIP" on the tombstone. In front of the tombstone, shape remaining mixture into a mound. Sprinkle with pepper; press parsley into mound for grass. Serve with crackers.

Note: While this is a very tasty cheese spread, you can make this interesting display with one of the good cheese balls you can buy already made at Food City. Allow it to soften to aid in shaping and proceed as above. Happy Halloween.
