Being right in the middle of horse country you would expect many of our fine horses to be right in the middle of it all.

When it comes to Kentucky horses are well known, probably more so for horse racing.

Many of the horses here are considered stellar athletes and we like them to go fast!

As the World Equestrian Games approach, Kentuckians will be introduced to some disciplines that never seem to get much attention in the bluegrass.

Competitors from around the country will show up with their horses to compete in events like reigning and endurance, you won't see these horses racing around a dirt track that's for sure.

when it comes to Kentuckians or Kentucky bred horses competing in the 16 day event-you won't find them.

Officials with the World Equestrian Games say one Kentucky bred horse named Leyland was selected a reserve horse for the eventing category, but as of now it looks like that horse will stay on the reserves.

Being a back up mean Kentucky won't have a chance to say one of its own competed in the history making event.
