Has the water company started using a new chemical or changed the mixture of chemicals in the water treatment plant?

Ray Golden with Kentucky American Water says the water company performed its annual water system flushing between April 16th and May 4. This is done every year to clean the pipes. Golden says the disinfectant is changed during the two week period.

They use chlorine at the time, Golden says that could result in changes in the taste and smell of the water. He says it should be gone now. If you still smell or taste chlorine you can give Kentucky American a call at 859-268-2386.
