What happened to the dog rescued from the side of the road by Paris police officer Mark McClure?

In March Paris Police officer Mark McClure was driving home when he saw a dog that was badly injured. McClure stopped, picked up the dog and took it home. He and his wife got the dog immediate care; the dog had a broken tail, broken femur and paw among other injuries. The dog racked up hundreds of dollars in medical bills.

The McClure's named the dog Benji and now consider him one of the family. The McClure's actually received hundreds of dollars in donations from the community for Benji; they had so much in fact we are told that they donated it back to the local humane society.
