This September Global Green Cars announced it reached a 15.5 million
dollar incentive package with the state. The company is in the process
of moving its operations from Idaho to Williamsburg, Kentucky. They hope
to be operating in the state by early October.
The plant will produce its electric truck model, the G3. The company
hopes to have it rolling off the assembly line by the second quarter of
Now as for when the hiring process will start, the president of the
company says they will need 68 people initially in their temporary
facility. When the plant is completed they will ramp up mass production
in 2011 and will eventually hire some 500 employees.
Staffing will be handled through a grant from the state. More details
