A consumer watchdog group released its top ten list of foods that are
most likely to make you sick. The report by the Center for Science in
the Public Interest listed the top ten foods regulated by the FDA that
have caused the most outbreaks in terms of food bourn illnesses.
At the top was leafy greens, responsible for a quarter of a million
illness, nearly 13 thousand since 1990. Next was eggs, tuna, oysters,
cheese and potatoes. Even a sweet treat, ice cream, made the list.
Rounding out the top ten was tomatoes, sprouts and berries.
Believe it or not, the CDC says there are 76 million cases of food bourn
illnesses in the US each year and some 5,000 deaths.
