Company is coming in 53 days, that's when the world will come to Lexington for the World Equestrian Games
After hearing about it for so many years, many of us have no idea on what to expect.
Good Question: What are some of the myths surrounding hotels, parking and tickets?
Soon the World Equestrian Games will be a reality and Lexington will play host to the world.
" I hope people would look at this event as such a unique opportunity and extraordinary opportunity, its not just for the horse industry, not just for Lexington its for Kentucky," said Jamie Link, the CEO of the games.
Link says despite all the planning there are still some misconceptions surrounding the games, for instance are there enough hotel rooms?
"There are absolutely hotel rooms available and there are several hotels depending on the proximity to the park that people are looking for and the price range they are looking for," said Link.
When it comes to Ironworks Pike, Link says expect an increased volume of traffic, but will it be chaos?
"Its going to be busy, we certainly hope its busy, but its not going to be chaos," says Link.
As for getting to the games, Link says you can drive yourself.
Space in an adjacent farm will make it possible for people to park at the games,
You can take a LexTran bus for $2 round trip, hotel shuttles, or even a taxi.
As for tickets, its not sold out.
Link says he admits it has been a challenge selling tickets, but he hopes as it approaches people realize its importance.
"This is going to help define Lexington for the coming years and we need the community's support in enhancing that legacy," says Link.
The opening ceremonies for the World Equestrian Games will be held on September 25th.
