In Kentucky, basketball is king.
In Lexington it's the Wildcats, in Louisville it's the Cards, but could there be a new mix to the b-ball madness?
Good Question-Phil in Lexington: Is there going to be an NBA team in Louisville?
When the NBA season kicked off a few weeks ago several former Wildcats were front and center.
One of those, Demarcus Cousins now playing for the Sacramento Kings.
Disputes over building a new arena have Kings ownership and NBA commissioner David Stern frustrated and even hinting of a relocation of the team, but where would they go?
A grass roots effort on-line leads you to believe Kentucky would be first on the list.
Five guys in Louisville recently started a Facebook page,"Bring the Sacramento Kings to Louisville.
So far nearly 5,000 people have hit the like button to agree.
While it seems highly unlikely at this point, studies have been done to see if it would be possible.
A study done by the Louisville Chamber of Commerce found that the community could support an NBA team.
The study also found that Louisville ranks right up there with peer cities like Charlotte, Indianapolis and Sacramento and that small markets tend to show strong support for their NBA teams.
All signs that the guys behind the Facebook page hope means they will soon be cheering on the Kings in their own backyard, when in reality its anyone's guess as to what might really happen.
