Good Question: How many people really stick to their New Year's resolutions?

In just two days Times Square in New York City will be full of revelers ready to ring in the new year.

One out every three party goers will enter 2011 with a resolution..

The website Bing.com says last year year their top two searches after the new year included to lose weight and fitness..

People vow to do all sorts of things to better their life, from exercising more to managing their money more carefully.

Whatever it is, it can be tough to make it the whole year.

Even some in our own WKYT family will try to stick to a goal in 2011.

Chief Meteorologist T.G. Shuck: "My New Year's Resolution is to forecast as many sunny and 80 degree days as I possibly can."

Wendy Enneking: "My resolution is to make the most of a lot of charges that are happening in my life in 2011."

Sam Dick: "My New Year's resolution is to stay healthy, to promote good health and to be a kinder person."

Kristen Kennedy: "My New Year's resolution is to walk my dog more."

Victor Puente: "My New Year's resolution is to quit going to the movies by myself."

A study by the Journal of Clinical Psychology found in 2002 that 75% of people stick to their goals for a week, while only 46% are still on track six months later.

Men achieve their goals more often if they set small measurable goals and women achieved their resolution 10% more often if they went public or had a friend help them out.

There are two things for certain, the new year will arrive and when it does so to will a new batch of resolutions!

That same study in 2002 found that 52% of us think we will follow through on our goal set each year.
