The trade magazine Pizza Today says Super Bowl Sunday ranks as one of the fifth biggest pizza eating days right behind Halloween, the day before Thanksgiving and New Year's Eve and New Year's Day.

On Super Bowl Sunday Americans will consume 30 million pizzas, that's 350 slices a second.

Pizza giant Papa Johns expects to sell one million pies for the big game.

Do television sales spike for Super Bowl weekend?

A recent study found that nearly five million shoppers were planning to take advantage of Super Bowl deals and buy a new television.

Here in Lexington the folks at Pieratt's say they always see a lot of interest this time of year.

"There is a big push from manufacturers right now. There is a transition between 2010-2011 televisions so you are seeing a lot of rebates and incentives from the manufacturers," said Michael Cox, Director of Marketing for Pieratt's.

Sometimes more anticipated than the game itself are all those commercials.

How expensive are those Super Bowl commercials this year?

This year a 30 second spot for Super Bowl 45 will cost advertisers a whopping $3 million dollars, that up slightly from $2.7 million last year.

Viewership for this match up is expected to be 110 million.

If you are still looking for a ticket be prepared to pay, tickets are going right now for upwards of $7000.
