Its been a long winter so far and there are still sixty- days till spring.

Snow seems to be one topic that many of you always find interesting and want to know about.

Snow has its sights set on central Kentucky once again.

It seems when snow melts, more is already on its way.

The folks at the National Weather Service office in Jackson say that would be Letcher County in eastern Kentucky.

As of today, 49 inches has been reported at the base of Pine Mountain.

When winter storms hit, road crews stay busy.

In Fayette County the Sam Williams, the Director of Streets and Roads have already had to order more salt.

Rene, Frankfort: When there is road salt left over, can it be saved and used the next year?

It it can, and since its so expensive road crews say anything left over is good for the budget.

"Actually as long as you keep it under a good dry roof, it's fine the next year, sometimes you have to work it up, but it's more than fine the following year," said Leo Vaughn the Superintendent for Harrodsburg Public Works.

In Lexington, the Director of Streets and Roads says its ordered from a company in the Louisville area, the mine though is actually in Michigan.

It seems like a lot, Chief Meteorologist TG Shuck says we have seen eight days in 2011 with at least an inch on the ground.

In December he says we saw 18 out of the 31 days with some snow on the ground.
