Now with new improvements because of the World Equestrian Games, it has more to offer in the future.

Good Question: What's next for the Horse Park once WEG has moved on?

For 13 days now the world has had its sights set on the Kentucky Horse Park, hosting the World Equestrian Games on U.S. soil for the first time in the history of the event.

"It has been absolutely fantastic having all of this international media here all of the international visitors its been great," said Cindy Rullman, Director of Marketing and Public Relations at the Horse Park.

In order to get the park ready for WEG, there were major improvements made.

Roads and sidewalks were upgraded.

The facility now has a new indoor arena and the outdoor arena was expanded..

All changes that has allowed the Horse Park to attract new business to the site.

"We have a lot of new horse shows that are booked in the upcoming year in 2011, shows that have never taken place in Kentucky before."

Now that the games are nearing an end, the folks at the Horse Park have a quick turn around to get the park ready for the next big project on the calendar and that means putting up all those Christmas lights.

"Southern Lights is going to be starting a little bit later this year because as you can imagine when the World Equestrian Games are over we're going to have a lot of cleaning up to do."

But, Rullman says that's okay, because thanks to WEG this park will be even better that it already was.

Mark your calendars, Southern Lights will begin on November 26th.
