2 cups Tennessee Barbecue Sauce (see recipe below)
1/2 cup tomato sauce
1 cup chopped smoked pork
1 pound spaghetti, cooked al dente
In a saucepan, combine the barbecue sauce, tomato sauce and the chopped pork. Bring to a boil, reduce the heat and simmer for five minutes.
In a big bowl toss the cooked spaghetti with the sauce.
Serves 4 as a main course or 8 as a side dish
Dr. BBQ’s Tennessee Barbecue Sauce
1 cup cane syrup
1 cup tomato sauce
1 T cider vinegar
½ t allspice
½ t fine ground black pepper
¼ t ground cloves
¼ t cinnamon
¼ t cayenne
In a meduim saucepan combine the ingredients. Cook over medium heat stirring often until the ingredients are all combined. This should take 4-5 minutes.
Makes 2 cups.
