Health department, BIACS hosting free health fair
The Lexington-Fayette County Health Department and the Bluegrass Indo-American Civic Society are teaming to host a free health fair offering a wide range of medical services, including dentistry, screenings and health advice.

The Lexington-Fayette County Health Department and the Bluegrass Indo-American Civic Society are teaming to host a free health fair offering a wide range of medical services, including dentistry, screenings and health advice.
The event will be held Sept. 18, at the health department building at 650 Newtown Pike. It is open to anyone in need of free medical care.
Physicians will volunteer their services at the free health fair, which will offer on-site screenings for the following:
• Lung functions;
• Dental health;
• Mental health;
• Diabetes/glucose (fasting required);
• Blood pressure;
• Cholesterol (fasting required);
• Glaucoma;
• Osteoporosis;
• Bone and joint health; and
• Allergies
Basic health advice provided will include:
• Wellness and nutrition;
• Obesity in children;
• Pediatric and adult immunization;
• Asthma in children;
• Nutrition and fitness; and
• Sports medicine
