H1N1 Vaccine Clinic Information
Shipments of limited quantities of the 2009 H1N1 (swine flu) vaccine began arriving in some Kentucky communities on Oct. 5.

Shipments of limited quantities of the 2009 H1N1 (swine flu) vaccine began arriving in some Kentucky communities on Oct. 5.

Over the coming weeks, larger quantities of both the nasal spray and shot form of the 2009 H1N1 vaccine are expected to be available. Clinic locations where the public can receive the vaccine are listed on this page, arranged by health department/agency and county, as they are scheduled. The Public Health Influenza Hotline at 1(877)843-7727 will also have information on clinic sites. More clinics will be scheduled in the coming weeks.

The target groups recommended to receive the swine flu vaccine as soon as it is available are:

* Pregnant women

* Household contacts and caregivers for children younger than 6 months of age

* Health care and emergency medical services personnel

* All children and young adults age 6 months through 24 years, especially those with chronic conditions

* People age 25-64 years of age with chronic health conditions

Only healthy individuals between the ages of 2-49 can receive the nasal spray H1N1 vaccine. All clinics are currently encouraging individuals in target groups to be vaccinated first, and others to wait until the vaccine supply increases.

Bourbon County

This clinic will be focusing on the target groups listed at the top of this page.

* 1-6 p.m. on Nov. 10 at Bourbon County Park Legion Hall

Cumberland Valley Health District

These clinics will be held based on the availability of the vaccine and could be rescheduled or postponed if there are delays on the vaccine's shipment.

Estill County

This clinics will be focusing on the target groups listed at the top of this page.

* 8 a.m.-4:30 p.m. on Nov. 14 at the Estill County Middle School

* 8 a.m.-4:30 p.m. on Dec. 12 at the Estill County Middle School

Harrison County

H1N1 shots will be available for the firs 625 people who meet criteria requirements from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m. on Saturday, November 7. Shots will be available at the following WedCo Health District locations: 364 Oddville Avenue, Cynthiana; 2320 Concrete Road, Carlisle; and 300 East Washington Street, Georgetown.

Jessamine County

These clinics will be conducted on an appointment-only basis.

* 4:30-7:00 p.m. on Nov. 12 at Jessamine County Health Dept.

* 9-11:30 a.m. on Nov. 14 at Jessamine County Health Dept.

* 9-11:30 a.m. on Dec. 12 at Jessamine County Health Dept.

Laurel County

The Laurel County Health Department will host a H1N1 flu clinic from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. or while supplies last on November 7. There be no charge for the vaccination. The Laurel County Health Department is focusing on the groups recommended by the Centers for Disease Control. The Laurel County Health Department is located at 525 Whitley Street, London, Kentucky. Lexington-Fayette County

The clinics will be held based on the availability of the vaccine and could be rescheduled or postponed if there are delays on the vaccine's shipment. The health department will post the latest updated information on the clinics on its Flu Hotline, (859) 288-759 and online at www.LexFluCrew.com.

* 9 a.m.-3 p.m. on Nov. 7 at Paul Laurence Dunbar High School

* 9 a.m.-3 p.m. on Nov. 7 at Bryan Station High School

* 9 a.m.-3 p.m. on Nov. 21 at Tates Creek Middle School

* 9 a.m.-3 p.m. on Nov. 21 at Jessie Clark Middle School

* 9 a.m.-3 p.m. on Dec. 5 at Henry Clay High School

* 9 a.m.-3 p.m. on Dec. 5 at Bryan Station High School

* 1-5 p.m. on Dec. 6 at Henry Clay High School

* 1-5 p.m. on Dec. 6 at Bryan Station High School

* 9 a.m.-3 p.m. on Dec. 12 at Beaumont Middle School

Louisville Metro

These clinics will be both drive-thru and walk-in with no appointments necessary. The clinics will focus on vaccinating individuals in the following target groups: pregnant women; children 6 months-4 years of age; people who live with or care for children younger than 6 months of age; children 5-18 years of age with chronic medical conditions; health care workers and emergency responders.

* 8 a.m.-8 p.m. on Nov. 11-12 at Papa John's Cardinal Stadium

TARC will offer free bus service to the clinics from 8:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m. each day from the following locations: Urban Government Center, 810 Barret Avenue; East Government Center, 200 Juneau Drive; Southwest Government Center, 7219 Dixie Highway; Central Government Center, 7201 Outer Loop and The Nia Center, 2900 W. Broadway. The buses will run approximately every 30 minutes from these sites to Papa John's Stadium. Children under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian. To help alleviate clinic waiting time, individuals are encouraged to download the required Vaccine Information Statement (VIS) and consent forms at www.louisvilleky.gov/health, fill out these forms ahead of time and bring them to the clinic, but this is not mandatory. Individuals are also urged to wear either a short-sleeved or sleeveless shirt that will allow nurses quick and easy access to the arm.

Madison County

The Madison County Health Department will hold a walk-in clinic at the 216 Boggs Lane location from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on November 7. This clinic is targeted toward children with chronic health conditions between the ages of six months and 18 years.

The Madison County Health Department will hold a walk-in clinic at the 216 Boggs Lane location from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on November 14. This clinic is open to anyone in the Centers for Disease Control target populations.

Both injections and intranasal (fluMist) vaccine will be available on November 14. Additional clinics will be scheduled in December as vaccine supply increases.

Monroe County

This clinic will focus on vaccinating individuals in the target groups listed at the top of this page.

* 2:30-6 p.m. on Nov. 10 at the Monroe County Health Dept.

Montgomery County

This clinic will focus on vaccinating individuals in the followng target groups: pregnant women; persons who live with or provide care for infants <6 months (parents, siblings, caregivers); health care and EMS personnel who have direct contact with patients or infectious material; children 6 months-4 years and children and adolescents 5-18 years who have medical conditions that put them at higher risk of influenza-related complications.

Nasal Spray Vaccine will be available for anyone aged 2-49 that is healthy, and non-pregnant with no underlying medical conditions.

Nicholas County

H1N1 shots will be available for the firs 625 people who meet criteria requirements from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m. on Saturday, November 7. Shots will be available at the following WedCo Health District locations: 364 Oddville Avenue, Cynthiana; 2320 Concrete Road, Carlisle; and 300 East Washington Street, Georgetown.

Northern Kentucky Independent District

The following clinic will focus on vaccinating college students under 24 years of age, pregnant women and health care workers:

* 10 a.m.-5 p.m. on Nov. 11 at the Bank of Kentucky Center, 500 Nunn Drive, Highland Heights, Ky.

Please note: No parking on campus will be available. Shuttle busses will run from Furniture Fair, 3710 Alexandria Pike, Highland Heights and First Baptist Church of Cold Spring, 4410 Alexandria Pike, Cold Spring, to bring residents to the Bank of Kentucky Center. Additional shuttle and parking information will be posted on the Health Department's Web site at http://nkyhealth.org on Monday, Nov. 9.

The following clinic will focus on vaccinating pregnant women, caregivers of children under 6 months of age, parents with children aged 6 months to 4 years and parents with children at risk of flu complications:

* 10 a.m.-4 p.m. on Nov. 14 at Walton-Verona Middle/High School, 30 School Road, Walton, Ky.

The following clinic will focus on pregnant women, caregivers of children under 6 months, parents with children aged 6 months to 4 years and parents with children at highest risk of flu complications:

* 10 a.m.-4 p.m. on Nov. 21 at Summit View Middle School, 5002 Madison Ave., Independence, Ky.

Oldham County

This clinic will focus on vaccinating individuals in the target groups listed at the top of this page.

* 9 a.m.-6 p.m. on Nov. 14 at the LaGrange Baptist Church

Scott County

H1N1 shots will be available for the firs 625 people who meet criteria requirements from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m. on Saturday, November 7. Shots will be available at the following WedCo Health District locations: 364 Oddville Avenue, Cynthiana; 2320 Concrete Road, Carlisle; and 300 East Washington Street, Georgetown.
