WKYT reporter has close call at business raid

Lexington, Ky. (WKYT) - State Police and FBI agents spent the day searching a business in Lexington. The Mid-Way Market on Winchester Road was blocked off with police tape while investigators tore through the business and several smaller buildings on the property.

Investigators at the scene wouldn't say what they were looking for but the Clark County Sheriff said his deputies assisted federal agents who were serving search warrants connected to drug trafficking and stolen goods at three homes in Clark County. He said all four raids were connected.

We spoke with FBI officials, but they wouldn't say what they were looking for at the market.

The investigation led to some tense moments at the business. WKYT reporter Elizabeth Dorsett was attempting to get an interview with an employee when she had to jump out of the way after the person peeled out of the parking lot and nearly hit her.

Lexington police were called to the market after that close call to file a report. Officers reviewed our video of the incident. It will now be up to a judge to decide if charges will be filed for that incident.
