1 dead, 3 others injured in Montgomery Co. wreck

LEXINGTON, Ky (WKYT) A man is dead and three people are injured after a violent crash in Montgomery County.

The wreck happened around 12:30 Wednesday afternoon on Highway 213 South in Montgomery County near the Powell County line.

Officials say a truck hauling a trailer loaded with equipment was leaving Columbia Gas headed to Mt. Sterling when the trailer began to wobble, forcing the vehicle into the guardrail.

One passenger sitting in the rear of the truck was ejected. That person died from his injuries. Three people are in St. Joesph Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Crews have cleaned up debris from the wreck and the road is back open.
