Community pays tribute to fallen soldier
A somber day for one Kentucky community, as they prepare to say a final goodbye to a fallen soldier.
23-year-old Christopher Wright died last week in Iraq.
His body arrived at the Fleming-Mason Airport Thursday morning. Many people gathered there to honor his memory.
Crowds also lined the roads from the airport, to Wright's hometown of Tollesboro in Lewis County, as his body was transported.
A military spokesperson says Wright was serving his second tour of duty in Iraq when a piece of shrapnel hit him in the chest, killing him.
Soldiers, veterans, friends, and family all took part in Thursday's tribute to Wright. People we talked to told us it was important for them to show respect.
Wright's funeral will be held in Tollesboro. He was a 2005 graduate of Lewis County High School.
