Woman Admits To Stealing Thousands From Lexington Auto Dealership

She was hired as an accountant for one of Lexington's biggest auto dealerships.

But instead of keeping track of their money, police say Shirley Bachelor actually spent several years stealing it.

Officials say Bachelor stole $712,000 from Glenn Auto Mall between 2003 and 2006.

She pleaded guilty in U.S. District Court Monday morning to bank fraud.

Officials say she stole the money by signing checks on Glenn bank accounts to her friends, family, and to a business she owned in Danville.

Bachelor will be arraigned Friday in Fayette District Court on four other felony counts of theft by unlawful taking.

As for the federal bank fraud charge, Bachelor will be sentenced in January. She could face up to 30 years in prison.
