High school football teams honor player killed in crash

He wore a different jersey and played of a different school but Friday night a community paid tribute to a high school football player killed in a crash.

17-year-old Mykal Barnes' funeral was held Friday at Central Baptist Church in Winchester.

Barnes died Monday, more than a week after he crashed his car in Clark County.

Bourbon County High School honored Barnes by wearing the number eight on their helmets.

Eight was Barnes' jersey number at George Rogers Clark High School.

Number eights and red ribbons were also sold at the game and donation containers were placed around the stadium to raise money for Barnes' funeral expenses.

Montgomery County High School also honored Barnes and raised money for his family during their game Friday night.
