Two killed, two badly injured in head-on crash

A head-on crash has killed two people in southeastern Kentucky.

It happened just before 9 Monday night on U.S. 23 in the Jenkins community of Letcher County.

Kentucky State Police say one car, driven by 36-year-old Michael Gullett of Pound, Virginia, was traveling in the wrong direction, and hit another car, driven by 30-year-old John Caudill of Whitesburg.

Police say Gullett and Caudill both died at the scene.

Police say 3-year-old Abigail Gullett, a passenger in Michael Gullett's car, was airlifted to a hospital in Tennessee, as was Mary Caudill, a passenger in John Caudill's car.

State police are still investigating the crash.
