Kentucky Lawsuit Against Oil Companies

You were overcharged 89-million dollars for gas, and we're one step closer in our fight to get that money back for you.

That's the message from Attorney Greg Stumbo and his team of lawyers.

The Attorney General's office is suing Marathon Petroleum Company, Speedway, and Super-America, saying that the companies overcharged Kentucky citizens during the gas shortage following Hurricane Katrina.

Today a federal court ruled that the lawsuit can go forward in a Kentucky State Court.

That means if this case goes to trial, a jury of Kentucky citizens will decide the outcome.

Attorneys working on the case say they are pushing for a 89 million dollar restitution to be given back to the taxpayers.
