A roadside piece of art is drawing quite a crowd along one Kentucky road.

Dozens people from across the state have come to see the bear carved from what is left of a tree along Chrisman Mill Road in Jessamine County.

Owner C.J. Curtsinger says it was something he wanted to do to brighten the road.

Earlier this year, Valerie Hager Adkins was killed nearby. She was driving her daughter to school at the time.

"People are slowing down. I mean they really are. We're having a good time. You know, as long as they slow down, that's cool," says Curtsinger.

"It just gives them something to think about coming down the road. That's what it is," Curtsinger adds.

The bear will be named after Bob Hager, a longtime resident of the road and also the grandfather of Valerie Hager Adkins.
