Jail Worker Accused Of Selling Drugs To Inmates

A worker in the kitchen at the Fayette County jail is accused of serving up more than just food.

Police arrested Melda Janae Coffman on Thursday for selling drugs and cigarettes to inmates.

Coffman is a contract worker at the jail. She is employed by Aramark.

We talked with someone with the company Thursday night, but were told we wouldn't receive an official comment until Friday. Coffman is charged with promoting contraband.
