Students protested outside the Kentucky Kernel Friday afternoon.
The article showed a half-dressed black man being auctioned off to thee white fraternity men.
A spokesperson for the UK says that the Kentucky Kernel is an independent publication, with the right to publish what they want.
The spokesperson also says that students, as American citizens, have the right to protest.
