Federal Mediator Called To Help With Nurses' Strike

Updated: Wed 8:47 AM, Oct 10, 2007

A federal mediator is now involved in a nursing strike.

The mediator is working to resolve a dispute between the Kentucky and West Virginia Nurses Associations and Appalachian Regional Healthcare.

The nurses rejected a final new contract last week over what they claim to be poor staffing issues. An ARH spokesperson says about 130 workers refused to strike.
