MORGAN, Pa. (AP) - Law enforcement agents say they've caught an escaped convict from Kentucky who was in a standoff at a suburban Pittsburgh hotel.
Authorities say they used special tactics to get 35-year-old
Anthony Ray Artrip, of Ashland, Kentucky, but they wouldn't elaborate.
Authorities say Artrip barricaded himself in the Knights Inn hotel in Morgan when U.S. Marshals tried to serve him a warrant around 9:30 Monday morning. He was apprehended shortly before 3 p.m.
Authorities say Artrip escaped from a northern Kentucky jail by
climbing through the roof in June while awaiting sentencing for bank robbery convictions in Ohio.
