Double Murder Case Underway

The trial for an eastern Kentucky man charged with two murders is underway.

John Wayne Collins is accused of killing his first cousin, Steve Collins in October of 2004 in the Roots Branch Community in Clay County.

He was charged with Christa Gayle Wilson's death nearly a year later.

Investigators say the two cases are connected.

Collins' trial was moved out of Clay CountY, and it is taking place in Bowling Green.

He could face the death penalty if convicted.
