They appeared to be shopping, but police say two women were actually stealing fur coats! One of the women stuffed them under her clothes to make it out of the store. The crime is caught on surveillance and police need your help finding the women responsible.
On August 10th at the Embry's on Tates Creek Road, these two women make their way into the store. one of the women distracts a salesperson..
"Meanwhile the other one takes a fur coat and puts it underneath her skirt and walks out of the store removing it and stealing it," says Det. Rob Sarrantonio.
In surveillance video you can see the woman hide behind a rack of clothes. That's when she puts the fur coat under her skirt, then leaving the store. Soon after, she goes back in.
"She goes back in the store and steals a second fur coat," says Det. Rob Sarrantonio.
Meanwhile, the other woman continues to distract the employee. The retail value of the two coats are valued at at least $13,000 dollars. Now police are hoping you can tell them who the women are.
