She says she wants to be an example for others to follow their dreams.

The gold medal winner of the endurance competition of the World Equestrian Games talked today about not only her latest win, but the newest addition to her family.

Maria Mercedes Alvarez Ponton finished first in a 100 mile race.

Her time was 7 hours, 35 minutes and 44 seconds.

If that's not impressive enough, Ponton just had a baby seven weeks ago.

This is Ponton's second first place finish in endurance, and she said this time out she felt great just a little tired.

Ponton said she competes because she loves the sport, but also wanted to be an example to her daughter and others to follow your dream.
