Missing Elementary School Student Found Safe

Video will be available shortly

An eleven year old child who disappeared from his Lexington elementary school Wednesday morning was found safe later that night.

Wednesday morning, a Linlee fifth-grader checked in to school late. The front office staff called down to his portable classroom to let the teacher know the 11-year-old was on his way to class.

When the student did not arrive to the room within a few minutes, the teacher alerted the front office.

School staff immediately made an all-call over the intercom for the student, searched the building and grounds, and notified both social services and law enforcement officials.

In the course of the search, Linlee was on and off of lockdown while the building was searched and students were kept inside while officers searched the grounds.

School officials tell 27NEWSFIRST the boy was found with his family.
