Deadly Crash On I-75
A deadly head on crash shut down a stretch of Interstate 75 in Madison County Wednesday night.
It happened around 9:00pm in the northbound lanes near mile marker 92 in Richmond.
Police say they believe the elderly female driver got on the interstate at exit 95 headed the wrong way.
She crashed into two cars before she slammed into an SUV head on. She was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the SUV was taken to a nearby hospital with serious injuries.
The crash is still under investigation. Police do not believe drugs or alcohol played a role in the accident.
