Lexington firefighters thank the community for an outpouring of support for a fellow firefighter who was burned while trying to put out a house fire earlier this week.

Lt. Richard Carlin was seriously injured while fighting a structure fire on Monday, Oct. 8. Carlin is still in the burn unit at UK Hospital in serious condition. Officials tell 27 NEWSFIRST, he faces a long and difficult road to recovery.

If you would like to send a message of encouragement to Lt. Carlin and his wife, Susan, you can do so by one of the following ways:
Send an email to getwellrich@lfd.lfucg.com.

Or send a card to him c/o Fire Station #1, 219 E Third St, Lexington, KY 40508 (or just drop it by any Lexington Fire Station).

If you are in the vicinity of Fayette Mall Oct. 11-13, the Fire Department will have a booth set up near the children's play area at center court where you can sign a banner for Rich and Susan.
