Video will be available shortly

Part of Main Street in Monticello were closed on Friday morning, after an overnight fire that firefighters say is suspicious.

The fire broke out just after 11:30 Thursday night on Main Street. The Monticello fire chief says that when he arrived, flames were shooting 100 feet in the air from the two-story buildings.

Firefighters worked for hours to control the fire, which engulfed five buildings. The vacant buildings were scheduled to be demolished.

One firefighter suffered from heat exhaustion.
