Jury Deliberating In Murder Trial 
A Powell County jury found Shannon Burgher guilty of murder and kidnapping after about an hour of deliberation on Friday afternoon.
Prosecutors say Shannon Burgher ran his estranged wife, Donna, off the road near Stanton and then shot her to death. Prosecutors also say he set her house on fire.
Both prosecutors and defense attorneys presented closing arguments on Friday afternoon following the three day trial.
Defense attorneys didn't deny that Burgher shot his wife, but asked the jury to consider his mental state at the time of the shooting.
Prosecutors played a tape of Donna Burgher's frantic 911 call after she had been shot. They want the jury to find Shannon Burgher guilty of the maximum charge of murder.
The jury got the case at around 5:00 on Friday and returned that verdict at just after 6:00.
