Election officials looking for poll workers

FRANKFORT, Ky. (AP) - Some election officials across the state
are still looking for people to work the polls during the November election.

Secretary of State Trey Grayson says many counties across Kentucky are in need of people to work on Election Day.

To qualify, a prospective poll worker must be a qualified voter, have not changed political parties within a year and not be a candidate or close relative of a candidate. Every precinct in the state needs to have four poll workers, or precinct officers, working during the election.

Poll workers are paid at least 60 dollars per election and get paid for mileage and training. People looking to be a poll worker should contact their local county clerks. The general election is November 6th.
