State Police are searching for an inmate who escaped custody today.

Larry Arvin was being taken back to Estill County Jail from a doctor's visit.

Police say when he got out of the vehicle at the jail in Irvine, he bolted, and ran off into a wooded area.

Arvin was wearing handcuffs and leg restraints at the time of his escape.

If you have any information on the inmates whereabouts, you are asked to contact Kentucky State Police.
