Just days after a win over the number one team in the country, a UK football player is facing some serious charges.
Lexington police arrested junior wide receiver Anthony Stewart late Monday night at his Olympia Road home.
According to a police report, they found more than five pounds of marijuana and cocaine in the home. Stewart is charged with trafficking marijuana and trafficking a controlled substance.
While searching his house, investigators also say they came across bags and wrappings with marijuana residue on them. According to that report, some of the bags were marked with weights of more than five pounds.
Stewart was found at another location where police say he had about three grams of powder cocaine on him. Police have not said where he was found when he was arrested.
Just last month, Stewart filed a burglary report with police saying his Music City Bowl ring had been stolen during a break-in at his home.
Anthony Stewart is a walk-on player and wore jersey number 83.
Coach Rich Brooks says Stewart is suspended indefinitely and Brooks says he will let the judicial system work itself out before he takes any further action.
Stewart was arraigned on Tuesday afternoon where he entered a not guilty plea. He's being held in the Fayette County Detention Center on a $25,000 full cash bond.
