In Scott County, a high school basketball star made his first court appearance on drug charges on Tuesday morning.

A police report shows Bud Mackey had one point six grams of cocaine in his shoe at the time of his arrest September. The Lexington Herald Leader reports Mackey told school administrators he was delivering it to someone else.

During his arraignment, Mackey had a not guilty plea entered on his behalf. He has to return to court on Thursday on an unrelated traffic charge. The judge also set a preliminary hearing for November 6th.

Mackey, who was considered a top pick for the Mr. Basketball title, had verbally committed to play at Indiana University. ESPN.com is reporting that IU has withdrawn its scholarship offer to Mackey.
