Crews Demolish Water Tower 
The leaning water tower in Jackson County is now a thing of the past. The tower came crashing down on Tuesday morning.
It was built on top of a mine shaft near McKee. The ground underneath started to give way, causing the tower to lean.
Crews had been keeping an eye on it, hoping it would fall on it's own, but no luck. Tuesday morning, demolition crews went to work.
Crews said the tower fell exactly where they'd hoped and no one was injured.
They did shut down highway 421 during the demolition just in case there was flying shrapnel. The next order of business is figuring out what to do with the now useless tower.
