Serious Accident Shuts Down Lanes Of I-75

A serious accident on I-75 in Lexington shut down two of the three northbound lanes during rush hour.

It happened just prior to mile-point 110 right before 7:00 a.m.

One of the vehicles involved was a pickup truck carrying a trailer in its bed. Police say the truck hit an armored car in the right hand lane. ended up sliding off the road.

Firefighters had to do the jaws of life to get an elderly woman out of the pickup truck.

Lexington Police's Collision Reconstruction Unit was called to the scene.
