McCreary County Teens Hurt In Crash

A car wreck on Monday morning sent two students from McCreary Central High School to the hospital.

The crash happened on Sand Hill Road (Route 700) in McCreary County.

17-year-old Betty Cox and 16-year-old Brittany Clark were hurt.
Both are seniors at McCreary Central in Whitley City, according to the district's superintendent.

The girls were on their way to school when their car ran off road and
flipped. Both were ejected from the vehicle. Police say they were not wearing their seat belts.

Cox was flown to from the scene to the University of Tennessee Hospital, while Clark went to UK. Both teens are listed in serious but stable condition.
